Who We Are

We are a community that gathers around Jesus’s table in real and genuine ways. Called to reach the emerging generations of young adults in our city, we are not your typical church—choosing creativity, story, and shared meals over tradition and formality. Food becomes our open door, where stories are exchanged and hearts are nourished. The arts—through sound, movement, and visual expression—open pathways for exploring identity, purpose, and belonging. We create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and invited to journey at their own pace. Here, you belong before you believe, and transformation happens not by pressure, but through presence, love, and authentic connection.
We are raising a movement of disciples, innovators, and leaders who are discovering how God has wired, gifted, and purposed them. Prayer is our heartbeat—a beautiful exchange with the Holy Spirit who welcomes us, draws us closer, and transforms us. We do not seek to impose religion, but to invite people into relationship—cultivating curiosity, creativity, and community that point to Jesus. Together, we are becoming an intercultural family that reflects Christ: disciples, dreamers, and solution-bringers sent to bring hope, healing, and restoration to our city and beyond.
Vision Statement
At Gather, we believe God is fulfilling His promise to bring His sons and daughters from every direction. Here in Officer, South-East Melbourne, we are called to be a church that gathers people around Jesus’s table. A table where all are welcome and belong.
Following Jesus’s example, we create spaces for God to move and transform ourselves, our communities and our city - always gathering around food, faith and friendship. We want each and everyone to encounter His presence, discover your identity, and live out your God-given purpose.
Together, we are building an intercultural community, raising generations to bring God’s hope, healing, and restoration to our city and beyond.
Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth — everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.
Mission Statement
We gather around Jesus’s table to build an intercultural family of disciples and leaders, living out identity, purpose and transformation.
"You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me."
Our Focuses
Our culture is made up of four key pillars along with our values.

Gatherings
We gather around Jesus’s table in ways that are open, inclusive, and connected. Whether in worship, over meals, or in circles of friendship, we create spaces where people encounter the Holy Spirit, share life together, and discover community. Our gatherings—large and small—are designed to nurture belonging and spark transformation.

Emerging Generations
We believe children, youth and young adults make up who we are called to serve and reach. They are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. From the youngest child to the emerging leader, every generation matters to God to disciple into identity, purpose to a life of transformation.

Good Graces
Good Graces is where God’s love becomes action. We extend Jesus’s table into our neighbourhoods—through practical care, spiritual support, and genuine friendship. This focus grows with us, beginning with small acts and expanding into wider spaces of impact.

Prayer
Prayer is central. Jesus said, “My house will be called a house of prayer.” In prayer, we align with God’s heart, receive His Spirit, and carry His will into our world. Gather is a place where all can come to be prayed for, to sit in His stillness, and to be strengthened in faith. Prayer is not an event—it’s our posture.
Core Values
Our values encapsulate the culture that we feel God has uniquely called our church to cultivate.
We follow Jesus and walk with others—from belonging to becoming. We journey with people as they discover their identity, grow in leadership, and live out their God-given purpose.
We honour differences and celebrate intercultural diversity. Around Jesus’s table, every tribe, tongue, and generation is seen and sent.
Jesus doesn’t just gather—He restores. We make space for the miraculous, trusting the power of His presence to renew lives, families, and cities. We believe God still heals and fills hearts, still changes everything.
We reflect the Creator through sound, story, movement, and beauty—using the arts to connect generations to encounter God. Rooted in identity and purpose, we release bold ideas, fresh expressions, and Kingdom solutions that carry hope into every sphere.
We honour Jesus as Lord and see others as God’s children, each with their own unique calling, purpose and gifts. Honour releases belonging, blessing and breakthrough.
We are anchored in God’s Word—Spirit-breathed, life-giving, unshakable. God’s truth leads us into freedom. We teach the whole gospel with boldness and grace, forming people in wisdom and spiritual maturity.
We love like Jesus—relentless and generously, opening our homes and hearts around tables filled with food, faith and friendship. We speak joy and life into others and display compassion.
We lead by serving. Greatness looks like hospitality, humility and helping others feel seen and nourished.
